With probably the most consistenly large grid sizes in worldwide motorsport in 2006, the inaugural FIA GT3 European Championship was an incredible success and this is set to continue in 2007 as it supports it's big brother, the main FIA GT Championship, through the European based events at Silverstone, Bucharest, Monza, Spa (a non-championship round), and Brno, before its own headlining finale in the November heat of Dubai.

Organised and promoted by the SRO Motorsports Group, the GT3's format has been so successful that many more national series are following the GT3 regulations for their GT championships.  Joining the existing makes of Maserati, Aston Martin, Porsche, Dodge, Lamborghini, Corvette, Ferrari, Ascari, in 2007 will be Jaguar with the brand new XKR Coupe.
